Chairwoman, Danielle Beck
Danielle Beck can often be seen carrying a large cardboard cutout of John McCain around the campus of Catholic University. As a junior politics/pre-law major and philosophy minor Danielle is thoroughly enjoying her time in Washington, D.C. Danielle served as Vice Chair during the 2007-2008 school year and is now the Chair of the College Republicans at CUA. She is currently an intern in the political department of Freedom’s Watch, a non-partisan, non-profit think-tank that supports conservative values. When Danielle isn’t participating in stimulating political debates or working on grassroots campaigns she can be found relaxing on the beach in her hometown of Plymouth, Massachusetts, hanging out with her friends, or baking cookies. Danielle looks forward to a successful 08-09 year for the College Republicans and she can’t wait to help John McCain win the election!

John Byers
John Byers is a sophomore politics/pre-law major at CUA. John is from Summit, NJ where he is an active campaigner and has been involved in over 20 successful campaigns. Hailing from NJ, John has been exposed to, and is well-versed in, the realities of hard-ball democratic politics. John is a former competitive public speaker and political appointee. He looks forward to mastering the ground game and meeting his democratic rivals in the battlefield. John’s prize processions include his lawn sign collection and his President Bush cardboard cutout.

Bill Durdach
Bill Durdach is a sophmore Politics major at Catholic. A Republican his whole life, he has been very involved as a campaigner for the party and supporter of the club since arriving at Catholic. He found a passion for grassroots campaigning while walking districts in Massachusetts and New Jersey. He believes that taxation is the most important political issue and considers Newt Gingrich his political hero. He proudly hails from hardworking Northeast Pennsylvania and considers himself a traditionalist. In the future, he hopes to attend law school while specializing in either commercial or sports law. His hobbies include baseball, golfing, and movies.

Alex Smith
Alex Smith, is a sophomore double major in Politics and History, studying in the University Honors Program. While attending Country Day School of the Sacred Heart in her home state of Pennsylvania, she worked on a variety of local and state campaigns, while also serving as a youth reporter for a local paper. She was a leader in both Student Council and Model United Nations, activities that led the state to select her for The Pennsylvania Governor's School for International Studies. Alex went on to intern for a prominent radio talk show host and author, becoming his research assistant in 2008 for his upcoming book. She is currently working in Washington, D.C. for a conservative think-tank. An admirer of the fast-paced Beltway lifestyle, she enjoys opinionated writing of a similar nature, something that will inevitably take root in a media-based career.

Pat Richers
Pat Richers is a sophomore Politics Pre-Law major from Springfield, Pennsylvania. An active College Republican since he was a freshman, Pat is very excited for the upcoming year. He has participated in many campaigns on the local, state, and national level. Pat comes from a high school where he was one of two conservatives in his graduating class. Pat considers his political heroes to be Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. He enjoys debating liberals, playing the guitar and drums, and skeet shooting.

Allison Laurencelle
Alison Laurencelle is a senior Politics major, with a concentraion in International Relations as well as a minor in English. She has been an active member of College Republicans since her freshmen year. Alison served as Administrative Chair during her junior year and will also serve as secretary on the DC Federation of College Republicans in the 2008-2009 school year. Outside of school and CRs Alison is busy interning at the German Marshall Fund. Her hobbies include skiing, traveling, photography, and spending time with her family and friends. She is from New Jersey, and is an avid Yankess and Giants fan. Alison plans on furthering her education with law school after she graduates from CUA.
