College
Republicans is the nation's oldest, largest, and most active youth
political organization. Founded in 1892, there are currently over
200,000 CR's around the country on 1,800+ campuses in every state and
DC.
Every
year, CR's from all across America come together to help elect
Republican candidates, support the Republican agenda, and become the
future leaders of the conservative movement. College Republicans are
the grassroots arm of the Republican Party - the counterbalance to the
unions and leftist interest groups.
As
members of the College Republicans at CUA, we have two important tasks.
As the University's largest and most active organization, we have the
responsibility of pursuing our Republican mission Additionally,
our location at the Catholic University of America makes it imperative
for our organization to bridge our Republican values with our Catholic
identity.
The CRs have three major aims as an organization: 1) To produce and attend conservative events. 2) To provide opportunities for club members to support conservative candidates. 3) To secure internships for our members.
In
the past, we have never failed to live up to these high expectations.
The CRs have hosted great speakers as former RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie
(a CUA alumnus), Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Senator Sam
Brownback, Pat Buchanan, Former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge,
Former Attorney General Edwin Meese III and former Vice President Dick
Cheney. In addition to our impressive roster of speakers, our members
attend the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in
Washington, D.C., where members can interact with conservatives from
all around the country. CRs also regularly host several social
functions that have become staples at CUA (including our annual
Christmas party and Chairman's Dinner), as well as participate in
numerous other charitable, community, and politically-oriented
activities and events.
For
anyone in Washington who is interested in Conservative politics,
government, or civic involvement, an internship is a valuable
opportunity to make the most of your DC experience. Our organization
has numerous contacts in Capitol Hill offices, campaigns, think tanks,
and lobbying firms. You came to D.C. for a reason—allow us to make the most of your four years here.
I
want thank you for checking out our website, and please feel free to

Best Regards,
